要旨

本研究の目的は，We Can ! 2の “My Summer Vacation” の単元を通して，デジタル教材の効果的な活用と指導法につ いての提案を行い，その実践結果の報告を行うことにある。デジタル教材活用に当たっては，1)十分な音声の慣れ親し み 2)キーワードの確認 3)児童の実態に合った内容の選択 4)ALTの活用 5)デジタル時間の限定の5点を基本とした。 参加者は6年児童152名で，“My Summer Vacation” に絞って実践した。データは，質問紙で行い，分析は記述統計量と テキスト・マイニングで処理した。 その結果，多くの児童が電子教材を使った英語の授業に好感を持ち，電子教材の音声と視覚的な写真や文字が，現在と 過去の表現の違いに気づかせる有効な働きをしていることも分かった。 デジタル教材活用のポイントは，授業のねらい達成に向けていかにデジタル教材を有効に活用できるかということが確 認された。デジタル教材だけを見せること自体が目的となってはいけない。課題として，児童の実態に合わせたデジタル 教材を活用するなど，教員がデジタル教材の効果と課題を認識することが示された。

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to propose effective use of digital teaching materials and teaching methods through the unit “My Summer Vacation” in We Can! 2, and to report the results of the practice study. The basic points to remember when using digital teaching materials are: 1) familiarity with sufficient sounds and speech in English, 2) confirmation of keywords, 3) selection of content suitable for actual childhood situations, 4) use of ALT, and 5) limitation of digital teaching material use. The participants in this study were 152 6-year-old children, who practiced “My Summer Vacation”. Data were obtained from a questionnaire, and analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and text mining. The research found that many students are fond of using digital teaching materials in English classes, and the sound and visual materials and the characters in digital teaching materials are effective for recognizing the difference between present and past expressions. The research confirmed that digital teaching materials can be used effectively in the classroom. The purpose of these classes should not be to merely show digital teaching materials. The research found that teachers recognize the effects and issues of using digital teaching materials, such as using digital teaching materials tailored to the actual situation of children.

　⇨今後の小学校英語において、ICT（デジタル教材の使用は必須となってくる。今後の多くの実践のもとになることを期待する。
